Hit Points
Each character has a total of three Hit Points. This allows them to take three points of damage, such as a strike from a weapon, before they must lie down and begin their two minute bleed count.
Characters can gain extra Hit Points by distributing experience points into Might, Magic, Faith, Inspiration or Healing, as described later on.
Each character has a bleed count of two minutes before they die. While they are on their bleed count, they must lie on the ground, and cannot fight or defend themselves, but they can still speak, such as to call out for help. They cannot move, unless it is OC unsafe to remain still. They cannot use Might, Magic, Faith, Inspiration or Healing calls. They can use Fortitude Calls.
Characters who are on their bleed count can be ‘picked up’ by another character so long as that character has one hand completely free. They should say something such as: 'I have one hand free, I am picking you up.’ When picked up, the bleeding character should pick themselves up and follow the character picking them up. Neither character needs to touch one another and should not push or pull on one another. While picking another character up, a character cannot fight or defend themselves until the other character is back on the ground, or taken by another character.
Any character can move next to a bleeding character and staunch the bleeding by holding out two empty hands and calling ‘Staunch!’. This adds two minutes to their bleed count. If the character staunching removes one or both hands, moves from the bleeding character, or also begins their own bleed count, the bleeding character returns to the bleed count they were at when a character first staunched them.
During combat, if you are a Non-Combatant, hold your hand up in the air and move to safety. After the combat is finished, your character will take half of your max hit points in damage. This can put you on your bleed count.
