In Character Camping
The southern end of the northmost field is dedicated to in character camping. The in character camping field is considered in character until time out each day. The ground will be marked to designate where it is suitable to place tents. Tents should be placed carefully as to not block access.
Out of Character Camping
The northern end of the southern most field is dedicated to out of character camping. There will be an area give to Crew to prepare encounters. This area is considered out of character at all times. The ground will be marked to designate where it is suitable to place tents. Tents should be placed carefully as to not block access.
Fortress Camping
Within the fort is a barracks and an officers quarter. The barracks contains six roman bunk beds, with twelve spaces. The second floor of the officers quarter has ten spaces for sleeping bags. Crew and players may reserve a spot within the barracks for £25 on a first come first served basis. Crew and players may reserve a spot within the Officers Quarter for £15. This will be offered to crew first. If spaces remain, it will be offered to players. Please send an email to admin@endlessescapes.uk to reserve a spot.
Amenities:
Park in the Past is within Hope Village, and various amenities are available nearby, such as a Co-Op, Lion Convenience Store and Hope Pizza House.
There will be portaloos in both the In Character and the Out of Character Camping Fields. There is an Accessible Compost Toilet and two Compost Toilets directly next to the Fort.
There is no running water at the fort. You must ensure you bring sufficient hydration to the event.
Accessibility
Due to the nature of the site, which includes open field, woodland, uneven and potentially muddy ground, we believe the game will be inaccessible to those with serious mobility issues or those who would find it difficult to undertake a moderate amount of walking, around 30 minutes, in a day.
There are stairs to officers quarters and ladders to each of the towers however these areas will not be used for plot by the game team and we ask players do not use them if it would result in another player or crew being excluded.
Safety Rules of the Site
The battlements are a staple feature of the fort. However, the long wooden beams placed horizontally along the battlements make it unsafe to fight there. There should be no melee fighting on battlements. Players and crew may still use the battlements and ranged combatants such as archers or magic casters on the battlements are allowed. However once there are enemy combatants nearby, players and crew on the battlements must slowly and carefully climb down. They should not be attacked or interrupted until they are down and safely ready to continue combat.
There should be no fighting with anyone who is climbing or descending a ladder. Allow anyone coming up or down without interruption.
There should be no fighting inside tents. Do not enter another person’s tent without permission.
Due to the risk of trip, slip and fall hazards, especially in potentially wet weather, we strongly recommend attendees consider their choice of footwear and, if possible, bring a light source (IC appropriate if possible). Red lights are for safety and visibility purposes, and will be invisible to anyone who is In Character.
