The Monstrous
A character can instead choose to play a Monstrous Character. Hidden within you, or perhaps calling from beyond the Realm, is a power that yearns to be unleashed. These include, but should not be limited to monsters such as Werecreatures, Elementals, and Dragon-Kin. Monstrous characters have unique abilities beyond that of a normal character, but also come with their own unique downsides as well, such as a Werewolf's mindless rage upon first transforming.
Monstrous characters must have a larger costume than other characters to distinguish them from other non-monstrous characters. These often include masks, head pieces, claws, tails and similar. Any part of the Monstrous costume used for combat (e.g. claws) must pass our usual Weapons Check, and all parts of the costume must be considered safe for the wearer and for those around them.
Monstrous characters are not expected to always be in their monstrous form, and can freely choose to transform into and out of their monstrous form. This should not be done during combat, and preferably not in the open for immersion's sake.
If you would like to play a monstrous character, please email us and send a picture of your costume. We will confirm if this is suitable for a monstrous character and work with you to create unique abilities and drawbacks when you become monstrous. We will then do another check on site on the day of the event to confirm your monstrous costume is safe and suitable. Be Warned! It is encouraged to have a back up character and costume, in case your monstrous costume isn’t in line with our safety standards.
Eg. A Werewolf Monstrous Character would follow Character Creation as normal, however, they might be given an ability such as: When the Werewolf is transformed they will gain a use of Fortitude for every foe they kill. However whenever the Werewolf uses a Fortitude call, they must attack every nearby character, foes first, then allies, until the Werewolf drops to their bleed count or a miracle call is used on them.
