The King’s Realm
King Markus the Defender led the defence of his Kingdom against the first Blight from this very land. It is a very proud territory with many castles and keeps dotting its landscape. Villages, farmlands, abbeys, and more are built upon its grasslands and sloping hills, which give it an idyllic appearance. However, the pride of the people of these lands is often the cause of their downfall. Each structure, from stable to steeple, has been claimed as the ancestral right of at least a dozen Lords, who will fight amongst themselves over the smallest bits of land, using anything from heavily armoured knights to local levies. Characters of The King’s Realm are often unrepentantly proud, striving to always be better, sometimes to the point of arrogance. Though they may brag, they almost always have the power to back up their claims.
The people of The King’s Realm will flaunt whatever they are proud of, be it their skills, their wealth, or their history. Their clothing is often augmented by heraldry, jewellery and regalia. Even the poorest will find a way to cobble together anything from wooden trinkets to beads in order to display their pride.
An example of a character from The King’s Realm would be a local knight whose family has served their ancestral homeland since it was gifted to their family by King Markus a millennia ago. Home life has become boring, and so they have left their land to find their own fortune!
The appearance of peoples and kingdoms of The Kingsrealm could be inspired by, but should not be limited to, the appearances of: Romans, Arthurians, Byzantines, Landsknechts, High Elves, Samurai, Automata, and Halflings.
