The Bonefields

The vast amount of carrion left within its lands gives this territory its name. The Bonefields are a hot and arid land where survival is far more important than law. Most people from The Bonefields tend to be less empathetic and more tactical in their outlooks on life, with any new encounter just another obstacle that they have to deal with. The question always on their mind is, ‘How will this help or hinder my survival?’

Filled with cunning denizens who will just as likely stab you in the back as ally with you, this is a different world, where only the smartest survive. The people of the Bonefields are very much in touch with their own traditions, differing across kingdoms, but with some similarities. They understand their place in nature, what it means to be a part of the food chain, and they often look to the stars for guidance.

Those who hail from The Bonefields commonly take trophies or create trinkets to display their achievements, so all may know what they have overcome. These are usually made from the most plentiful material of the land, that being bone, but not always. The people of the Bonefields utilise shamanic magics where possible, and are some of the best problem solvers and detectives of the Realm.

An example of a Character from the Bonefields would be a member of a local clan, constantly fending off attacks from foreign kingdoms and rival clans. However, recently, their ancestors warned of a new threat and the smartest thing to do would be to band together.

The appearance of peoples and kingdoms of The Bone Fields could be inspired by, but should not be limited to, the appearances of: Thracians, Orcs, Huns, Beastfolk, Lizardfolk and Scythians.
